Answers for families
A few of the questions we hear most often. Do not see yours here? We are always happy to chat.
At what age should my child start therapy?+
It is never too early to ask a question. Early support can make a big difference, and there is no age that is too soon to reach out if something is on your mind. We will help you figure out whether therapy is the right fit for your child right now.
Do I need a referral to get started?+
Nope! Because we are a private-pay practice, you do not need a referral. Just reach out and we will take it from there.
Do you accept insurance?+
We do not currently accept or bill insurance. Genesix Therapy is a private-pay practice with flexible, subscription-based packages. We are always happy to talk through pricing and packages and find the right fit for your family, just reach out!
What does a typical session look like?+
Sessions are playful and tailored to your child. To your little one it often feels like games and fun, while your therapist is gently working toward specific, individualized goals the whole time.
Can I be involved in my child’s therapy?+
Absolutely, we hope you will be. Parents and caregivers are part of the team. We will keep you in the loop on goals and share simple ways to keep the momentum going at home.
How long will my child need therapy?+
Every child is different, so there is no one size fits all answer. After getting to know your child, we will talk through goals and give you a realistic sense of the journey ahead, revisiting progress along the way.
Do you offer teletherapy?+
Yes! We offer teletherapy along with in-person sessions in homes, daycares, and schools across Charlotte and the surrounding areas.
